Application Description
Keep track of the wines you drink, rate them and make a comment on each of them.
WineScanner lets you make notes on wines you drink or would like to drink.
For each wine you can rate the wine and write a comment. You can also indicate if you have drunken the wine, if you own some bottles of the wine and if it is a favorite wine.
WineScanner is integrated with Facebook and you can publish your comments on your wall.
You can also share your ratings with your WineScanner friends.
You can also get "WineScanner suggestions" which might help you finding other wines to appreciate based on the principle: "people that like wine A also like wine B".
WineScanner connects to a database containing more than 15000 wines. To use the database to find a wine, Internet connection is necessary.
The search for a wine is greatly simplified by the means of scanning the bar code of the wine. Currently there are more than 3500 bar codes in the database and it is growing. You can also search for the wine using the name of the wine, the name of the producer, country etc. For more elaborate search options you should try some of the websites on the Internet.
If the wine is not present in the database you can enter all details and add the wine to the database.
WineScanner uses the ZBar Bar Code Reader project licensed under the LGPL 2.1 license. More info about LGPL version 2.1 can be found at http://www.gnu.org/licenses/lgpl-2.1.html.
