The Twinkl Phase 3 Phoneme Board allows children to practise segmenting for spelling:

A word is read out by Metal Mike and the child must segment the word and put the sounds in the phoneme frame.

If the word has the correct sounds, Metal Mike will sound out the word.

If the word is correctly spelt, but with incorrect graphemes, Metal Mike will let the child know and they can try again.

This activity is useful to practice both blending and segmenting skills and is key to learning in this Phase of Letters and Sounds.
