The Twinkl Phoneme Board allows children to practise segmenting for spelling - the child has to make a word using the letters on the board:
If the word is a real word then Metal Mike will sound out the word. The child can then practise blending the sounds to read the word.

If the word is nonsense, then Metal Mike will let the child know and they can try again.

How many words can your children make using the letters? This activity is useful to practice both blending and segmenting skills and is key to learning in this Phase of Letters and Sounds.
