This tool handles the difficulties of laying out stringers, taking into account differing finish floor heights, tread materials, etc. The four major types of stringers are supported. All layout specifications are computed, including lower landing notch cuts, installation position with respect to the upper landing, riser cuts, unit rise and unit run. If you build stairs for a living or just want to learn more about the trade then this app is for you. The application works in imperial (feet and inches) or metric mode.

Note to metric users. Currently the Stair Layouts app requires input in 1 unit, be it meters, centimeters or millimeters. For instance, 1m + 2cm + 1mm would need to be entered as 1.021. Do not try to mix units. Pick one unit and stick with it through the entire layout.
