A series of videos with voice-over describing the correct first aid procedures and techniques to help your child after an encounter with a spider. We have focused on Australian spider as a general introduction to snakes. These videos focus on how to help your child or infant, should they suffer from a bite from a spider. Each form of bite is described in detail separately. The videos are designed to either refresh your knowledge or to teach.

All spiders should be treated with a healthy respect as even less venomous spiders can inflict a very painful bite. Most spider bites cause no more than mild local pain, swelling and inflammation. Of all the spiders found throughout Australia, only two pose a real threat to a child’s life and are capable of causing death: the Funnel Web spider and the Red Back spider.

The videos have been developed in conjunction with and supported by the leading first aid and pediatric specialists from around the world including the world famous Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children and St. John Ambulance.
