This application is a full-color graphics published print collection app of The Record of the Three Kingdoms by the renowned emaki (picture scroll) illustrator Kimiya Masago, which contains passionately drawn depictions of the legends of the Three Kingdoms who contended for supremacy against the backdrop of China at the start of the third century.

This app includes 42 illustrations depicting 23 scenes from the world of the Romance of the Three Kingdoms on a magnificent scale, such as heroes crossing swords, huge battles spreading to the horizon, the flames of a fallen castle roaring up into the sky, etc. Moreover, as a special bonus, it includes four illustrations that do not appear in the original book.

This app also includes the text of the dynamic story as composed by the novelist Sui Morishita. In addition, it contains a feast of beautiful classical literature that has been augmented and restructured (in Japanese only) by Sui Morishita herself.

The Romance of the Three Kingdoms application includes the biographies of the heroes appearing in the illustrations, which comprise the second half of the original published print collection of the same name. The Romance of the Three Kingdoms application is produced and sold as an iPhone app with the full consent of Kimiya Masago, the author of the original published print collection Romance of the Three Kingdoms.

About the Author
Kimiya Masago
Emaki (picture scroll) artist. Born in 1960 in Okayama Prefecture, He graduated with a degree in Physics from Chuo University, Department of Science and Technology. While enrolled at the university he studied under the cartoonist Buichi Terasawa. Later, after serving as the manager of Terasawa’s Production Department, he began to pursue his career as an independent artist. He is the acknowledged leader in his field and a representative exponent of contemporary historical warlord illustration. His creative activities have also expanded beyond two-dimensional illustration to embrace three-dimensional design, as when he was placed in charge of costume design for the movie PROMIS – Mukyoku and of visual concept design for the movie Dororo.
