MyMusicStand allows musicians to put all their sheet music (word documents, PDFs, etc) on their iPad and view them on the go. In addition to being able to view them, it allows you to create setlists out of your PDF sheets and play them back to back with just a tap to turn the page. This allows musicians to get rid of their unorganized and torn binders and use their iPads instead.

I have been a worship leader for several years now and worship leaders are by nature performing musicians. And, while I designed this app with worship leaders in mind, it works equally well for all other performing musicians. Below is a list of features available in MyMusicStand.

MyMusicStand features:
General:
-MyMusicStand is cosmetically pleasing and easy on the eyes. Not only is it functional, but its visual design makes it fun to use.
-Ready to go in minutes! Other great sheet music apps such as OnSong and Chordpro are amazing, but they require you to retype your sheet music in their proprietary formats, which takes hours, days, or weeks, depending on the size of your sheet music/chord chart library. MyMusicStand uses iTunes file sharing and the tried-and-true drag-and-drop concepts to get your sheet music into the app. Just drag it all in and launch the app. It’s that easy. If you don’t have time to retype all your chord charts, then MyMusicStand is the way to go!

Library:
-All sheet music is stored in a table. You can specify what instrument the music is styled for by changing its icon.
-Displays library on the left and sheet music on the right, side by side. OR you can enter fullscreen mode and access your library through a popover. Toggling between these modes is as easy as hitting a button.

Setlists:
-All your setlists are stored in a table on the left while the contents of the selected playlist are displayed on the right. Songs are added to the playlist through a library popover. (Note: Only PDF format documents can be used in setlists. This is due to the way word docs are encoded. If you have all your sheet music in word documents, simply see the help section of this app. Setlists places all the PDF documents side by side (each page filling up the whole screen when it is selected) and allows you to flip through them by just tapping the screen.

Features available while playing a setlist:
-Zoom control. You can control how big your sheet music is on the page. MyMusicStand automatically tries to cut out the margins of your documents but you can go further by increasing the zoom to the perfect level.
-Brightness control. You can dim the screen on your iPad while playing the setlist so that it is not too bright when the house lights go down.
-Stickies! You can place sticky notes on your sheet music to remind you when to repeat a verse, where to put a capo, or any other important information you need to record on the fly. These stickies are then saved to your song in the archive and will be there if you add the same song to another setlist. You can control the size of the sticky and the size of the font on the sticky as well as its color. 7 colors are available.
Music Player: play the song you are currently viewing (or others) from inside the Setlist Viewer.

Capture:
The third tab of MySMusicStand allows you to take a picture of a piece of sheet music and save it as a PDF file to your library. Granted the camera on the iPad 2 is not great, but it is good enough to make decently sized sheet music readable. This is designed as an emergency feature when you need the sheet music, but don't have time to prepare it beforehand.
