港鐵是在世界上最可靠的鐵路之一，乘客車程準時度暷持續保持百分之九十九點九。然而，鐵路系統的安全防謢保障設計，或間中可能出現零件損壞都可能會導致列車服務延誤。根據目前的通報機制，當列車服務已經或預計將嚴重受阻超過20分鐘，在視乎情況下，港鐵會發出紅色警報，建議乘客更改行程或乘搭其他交通工具。此外，當強烈熱帶氣旋或颱風吹襲本港，列車服務可能會受到影響，當九號增強烈風或暴風信號發出時，露天路段的鐵路服務將會停止。

“Traffic News”應用程式將在紅色警報發出時通知用戶，並提供相關的列車服務安排；而程式亦會在颱風襲港期間，提供列車服務變動的相關資訊。

此程式支援使用iOS 5.0 或以上版本的 iPhone。


MTR is one of the most reliable railways in the world, consistently achieving passenger on-time performance of 99.9%. However, the fail-safe design of the system or ad-hoc equipment fault may result in delays to normal railway services from time to time. Currently, the MTR has in place a notification system whereby a Red Alert will be issued if train service has been or is expected to be seriously delayed for more than 20 minutes and depending on different circumstances, passengers are advised to change routes or take other means of transport. In addition, severe tropical cyclones or typhoons affecting Hong Kong will also bring adjustments to normal train service levels, with service in open sections suspended when a No. 9 signal is issued.

“Traffic News” app informs subscribers when a Red Alert is issued and provides information on the resulting changes in train service. It will also provide advisories on the stepping up and stepping down of train service during typhoons.
