The intent of the Missing Person app is for law enforcement agencies of any type to aid in their investigation of missing people. Clicking on the “plus” sign allows investigators to create a new Missing Person entry. Upon creating a new entry, an investigator can add notes; assign a name, fill out the missing person’s details, add 4 photos and capture GPS coordinates of the persons last known location.

Investigators can assign photos to a missing person entry by clicking on the "Add / Change Photo" button, and selecting a photo from your iPad’s Photo Library. Additionally the app provides the investigator a method to display a photo of the missing person to the general public. This is accomplished by pressing tapping the image view. The image of the person can be panned or zoomed; double tapping re-centers the photo.

In addition to these features this application allows the investigator to capture the latitude and longitude of the missing person’s last know location. This is accomplished by tapping the “Capture Latitude and Longitude” button at the physical location or by typing the gps coordinates into the associated text fields. Once there are GPS coordinates tapping on the “Show Map” button will drop an annotated pin onto a map where the person was last seen. The map has three display choices. Choose between Standard, Satellite or Hybrid. Each map can be scrolled or zoomed.

Also, this app allows investigators to email the details of a particular missing person to anyone. Simply tap on the "Email" button and the details of the missing person will fill the body of the email. If pictures were provided, they will be attached to the email as well. Next, provide an email address in the "To" field of the email form and then tap on the send button to send the details.

To view the location of all missing people in your "List" plotted on a map, tap the "Map" tab bar button. This will drop a purple pin onto the location of all entries in your list. The map allows users to zoom in or out on locations. Choose between Standard, Satellite, and Hybrid.

The Missing Person app provides a means for the user to post Photo 1 and a message to their twitter account. The application adds an automatic hash tag of "#MissingPerson". To post to your twitter account configure your ios device with your twitter details, then select the missing person from you list, tap on the action sheet then tap on the "Tweet" button. This will bring up the "Tweet Sheet" with photo 1 attached and a hash tag of "#MissingPerson".

This app also allows users to share information between ios devices that have the Missing Person App installed and bluetooth capabilities. To send information between devices tap on the "Share" tab bar button. This will take you to a screen where you can connect ios devices. Once a connection has been established with another device (or devices) select an entry from the "Share" list. The selection will be highlighted in blue. Once selected, the "Send" button will activate. Tap the send button to send the information to all connected ios devices. Once sent, it is removed from the "Share" list only. It has not been permanently removed. To restore the "Share" list tap the "Regen" button. This will regenerate the list based on your "List". Tapping the "Disconnect" button will disconnect all connected devices.
