Application Description
iStroke is the first and best stroke watch on iTunes. iStroke may be used from the coaching launch or inside the boat.
iStroke the first application designed to meet the needs of the rowing coach and spectators alike. In the Start Mode, iStroke acts as a simple stop watch and interval timer. Stroke rates can be taken at anytime, with or without the use of the stopwatch. Base rates are set on the Files and Setting Page. The real power of the application come in performing timed or distance based intervals. The Timed Module easily tracks timed intervals and store stroke rates for up to three boats at a time. The Distance Module performs GPS based distance intervals while storing stroke rates indexed to time and distance. At the conclusion of each timed or distance piece, stored data may be emailed and the data removed from the phone.
The Timed Module allows you to preset a time in minutes and seconds. To enter the time mode, hit the stop watch icon on the task bar. Using the time wheels, dial in your time. Chose one, two, or three boats to track. The number of oars indicates the number of boats. Hit the Time button and the application begins to timer. Depending on the number of boats you have selected rate buttons will appear on the lower portion of the screen. The rates will be displayed. At the end of the timed event the data will be stored in sequence of the time taken.
The Distance Module allows for intervals to be performed based upon distance. Using the thumb wheel scroll in the distance you desire to row. Hit the start button. As you row the application is keeping track of the time and distance you row. The information is displayed. NOTE: This is the distance the phone moves and if you are following in a coaching launch and you navigate back and forth the data will be corrupted. This module allows for approximate distance determination when used from a following coaching launch.
It is highly recommended that you use a clam shell or other waterproof enclosure in order to prevent damage to the iphone. Rowing is a water sport.
