The Breadcrumb iPhone application, in conjunction with the Breadcrumbmobile service, is used to locate your high value assets such as people, vehicles and equipment 24/7 anywhere in the world and collectively displays them on a world map. This solution identifies the location of any subscribed location aware device (smartphone, automobiles or specialty devices using GPS technology). Breadcrumb displays the location of the asset at any time and can display the entire group together on a single map. The Breadcrumb application is a free app for iPhone users, however, to join a group of users or to be monitored by Breadcrumb’s 24/7 call center requires a subscription to the Breadcrumbmobile service.

The Breadcrumb app utilizes background location tracking to constantly update the iPhone's location to the Breadcrumbmobile service.

Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life. You may also set a battery threshold to automatically disable background tracking should battery life become critically low.
