Application Description
Automatic License Plate Reader (ALPR) for Californian license plates. This app will read Californian license plates on your iPhone or iPad.
Point the camera at a license plate and click read and the app will read the license plate. The app will compare the license plate to a list of up to 3000 license plates on your iPhone. No internet connection is needed.
You can add decoded plates to the list or edit the list file (PlateList.txt) manually using iTunes file-sharing.
The application has an AUTO mode where it will automatically grab images at 1sec intervals (on 5s or iPad) and compare any plates found to its list of plates in PlateList.txt. If the plate is found the number is highlighted.
Your 5s or iPad must be connected to an external power supply to run in AUTO mode. iPhone 4 or 4s will take longer between images.
