Application Description
This is a fun educational app designed to jumpstart your kids reading skills, starting with simple 3-letter (Consonant Vowel Consonant - CVC) words. This proven method rapidly increases their reading capability by teaching them how to blend letter sounds to form words. This app comes fully packaged with full phonics support and more than 250 words to give your kids core reading skills for rapidly accelerating their reading power. Most importantly, its simple, easy and fun to play.
The app comes in two modes
Game mode - in this mode you can hit 'Spin' button or shake the device to spin the word wheels to get a new word. You can tap the letter to hear the letter sound or hit the 'Help me read!' button to hear the entire word. You can even lock one or more letters to focus on a set of words. For example, if you lock the middle letter to 'a', you will get all cvc-a words. The letter wheels are all scrollable so you can choose the letter you want and then lock it to focus on the set of words you want to work with.
Manual mode - in this mode you can manually scroll the word wheels to form new words. It is a perfect mode to to teach your kids how flipping a letter in a word forms a new word. Kids really have fun turning the letter wheel to form funny sounding words.
The app allows the following two settings:
Phonics on/off - When this is on, you can tap the letter to hear the sound it makes.
Help on/off - When this is on, the 'Help me read!' button is displayed which will read out the word to you.
