Set a city and a time, and then receive a push notification with the weather. For example, set a daily alert for 8am and wake up to the weather. You’ll never need to open another weather app again or wait for the weather to load. It’s that easy!
When we wake up, we've got a million messages, the last thing we want to do is open yet another app and wait for the weather to load. Even unlocking our iPhone to see the home screen takes time and effort, so we built Weather Notifier to remove the work because, well, we’re lazy too.
With the ability to set multiple alert times for each city, you’ll never be “that guy” in a sweater and coat when it’s 85 and sunny or caught in shorts when the temperature drops to 50 degrees. The alert will show you the current temperature, high and low for the day, and chance of rain.
Retina display ready, Weather Notifier is compatible with the iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch running iOS 3.1 or later.
And because Apple never included a weather app on the iPad, you can use Weather Notifier to be alerted instead!
Roadmap for future app features include: threshold alerts (notify me if the temperature rises above 80 degrees and/or below 20 degrees), storm warnings, other countries, etc.
Notes:
1. Be sure to ACCEPT Push Notifications when you first open the app, otherwise it won't be able to alert you. If you accidentally do not accept, you can re-enable push notifications by going into the native Settings app, Notifications > Weather Notifier and turn notifications to On.
2. You may need to set an alert at least 15 minutes away from the current time for the notification to work, but we have tested and it works as close as 1 minute to the upcoming alert.
3. The native alarm function may not work properly in the following situation: if any push notification message is sitting 'in front' of the device and waiting to be cleared, the successive alert messages including alarm will go into a queue, and until you clear out the push notification that is in front of it, the alarm may turn off, if that waiting duration exceeds some limit, which usually happens during the nights/early mornings. This happens with many apps and is not an issue with Weather Notifier. iOS 5 should fix this issue.
