WE ARE THE SAME is an app for practicing compassion.
The application combines photos and status updates of your Facebook friends with short and fun personalized mind training exercises for developing compassionate attitude towards people and events in your life.
WHY IS COMPASSION IMPORTANT?
Compassion is the ability to feel with others and act with care for their wellbeing.
Our emotional state plays a crucial role in determining our well-being. Even if everything is perfect on the outside, bad mood, anger or jealousy will ruin the moment. On the other hand, positive emotions like love and compassion let us find happiness and peace even amidst difficult situations.
Compassion is a very powerful emotion. It gives direction to our activities, it gives us strength to use both happiness and pain for our benefit and it is the key that unlocks our potential.
Unlike external, material things, our mind is perfectly workable. We can easily train it. This application is an experimental attempt to use modern technology for mind training, in this case for expanding our capacity for compassion. It is based on Buddhist approach for developing compassion that is suitable for both religious and non-religious users.
