Application Description
VEO - Video Enhanced Observation - improved practice at your fingertips.
VEO app is free to teachers for recording, tagging and reviewing classroom practice with colleagues.
- Share your best moments in the classroom with teachers and mentors alike.
VEO recognises the demands on teachers and educators to continuously improve in a dynamic, pressured environment. By capturing and easily accessing key moments in your professional practice during an observed lesson, VEO gives you time to have valuable conversations that lead to reflection and continuous improvement. In addition, techniques you have developed can be shared with others in your school, to enhance learning beyond your classroom.
- Available for iPads and iPad minis.
VEO uses the iPad’s video capability to record lesson observations. Colleagues or mentors can live-tag student focus and engagement as well as key moments of practice, so that you are quickly able to identify strengths of a lesson and areas for further exploration, development and thought.
- Tag aspects of classroom management, teacher talk, questioning, assessment and pupil activity as they happen. You can then analyse the key instances that make a difference in your lessons. Teaching is not an exact science, but by sharing advice and video-clips of practice with colleagues, you can make the improvements you need for your own professional development and improve learning for your pupils.
VEO has review and statistics sections that enable you, not only to relive key moments of practice, but also to aggregate and comment on these, building up a picture of your strengths and areas for improvement. Graphs of student engagement over time show you the effects your actions have on your pupils. You can also see how much time you actually spend talking in a lesson as well as building a profile of your most effective classroom techniques. Using your iPad device, these can be easily shared with colleagues, if desired, so that your ideas on teaching practice can grow together.
