This interpretive trail is an introduction to visitors to the University of Tasmania (UTAS). They are designed for students from grades 5-10 and visiting groups such as U3A to the School of Geography and Environmental Studies. They seek to familiarise students with the UTAS campus highlighting the distinctive programs the School of Geography and Environmental Studies in human and physical geography, environmental planning and management, surveying and spatial sciences.
The biggest contribution the School can make to the future of the planet is to equip graduates to be integrative problem solvers for environmental sustainability. This begins on campus, making connections with the local and global community. This trail will introduce participants to the Sandy Bay campus grounds, focussing on sustainable initiatives and utilising spatial technology to explore university features and familiarise visitors to campus life.
