TxTMyBus is an iPhone app that provides real-time arrival and departure times for Sydney Buses for all stops on the network. It utilises the “TXTBUS” service from NSW Transport by sending your bus stop number, via SMS, to get real-time arrivals.
TxTMyBus allows you to bookmark your favourite stops for quick access. It also remembers the most recent stops you inquired from for speedier repeat inquiries.
TxTMyBus provides extremely useful information for regular bus commuters.
Unavoidable real-world delays often render timetables useless whereas TxTMyBus always provides accurate, real-time information directly from GPS locaters on the bus, which constantly update the transport network server.
Use the app everyday to avoid unnecessary delays and to be certain that you do not miss important appointments.
Features:
- Nearby Stops: TxTMyBus uses iPhone GPS location technology to automatically find the closest bus stops near your current location. Tapping on a stop can send SMS or add the stop into your bookmark list.
- Add to Bookmarks: Stores your most frequently used Bus Stops for quick access.
- View Recent Stops: Similar function with the bookmarks for quickly access your recent stops that you sent SMS for.
- Socialize Enabled with friends and fellow bus commuters. You can leave comments on each bus stop and share them into Facebook, email or SMS. You can share anything on each bus stop for other bus commuters to read.
The messages are being sent as a normal SMS message to the NSW Transit Bus Service. So they're being charged as a normal SMS charge as per your phone plan. The NSW TXTBUS service itself is provided for free by the NSW Transport service.
