Application Description
The Tree Of Life is a Bible reading plan that provides a plan to read through the Bible. This plan does not set up a plan to read through every page of the Bible. Instead, the plan presented focuses on key readings that emphasize important events in history, key ideas and principles and a understand of who Jesus is, why he did what he did, and what the Bible says about our future.
The material for this application came from a sermon series preached at Heritage Park Baptist Church, Webster, Texas (heritage park.org) in the Spring of 2012. Once these sermons have been finished access will be provided to retrieve and listen to the sermons.
The application breaks the reading up into 13 weeks with six readings per week.
The main page of the application displays the reference for the reading for that day. Selecting the reading will display a new view that displays the reading in the selected translation and marks that reading as read.
The Main View also provides access to the complete reading list, any missed readings, an About View, and Old New Testament Summaries.
The Reading Guide View lists out all thirteen weeks of readings. Each week displays the week number and the calendar dates for the week. Selecting one of the weeks in the View will display the six readings for that week. Each of these readings are display with the reference for the reading and the date the reading is assigned.
The Missed Reading item displays the number if missed readings, if any. Selecting this item will display the Missed Reading View. This view will display any missed reading showing the reference and the date the reading should have been read. Selecting a reading from this View will display the reading in another View and mark this reading as read.
The Main View also provides access to the Old and New Testament Book Summaries. These sections are for reference only. The summaries for each Book of the Bible gives a short description of each Book highlighting the most important parts.
The Main View gives access an About View. The About View gives information about the application and provides access to the Settings View. The Settings View allows the changing of the Bible translation to use and the date to start the reading.
The About View also provides access to the Welcome View to provide more information on how the application works.
