Dunov: a helping hand for young people with autism or ADHD. Always and everywhere.

The PT Coach is developed for young people who have difficulties with planning and solving problems, such as people with an autistic spectrum disorder or ADHD. The coach helps them with their day-to-day activities.
Dunov always aims at true support being:
- specialized and even personal;
- always right in time;
- discrete and inconspicuous.
COACHES
This program contains a Public Transport Coach, which is a problem solver for traveling with public transport. Dunov currently develops new coaches for different situations.
BACKGROUND AND MORE INFORMATION
Nowadays, a navigation device is a standard accessory of new cars. More and more people rely on electronic guides leading us to our destination and helping us with traffic jams and roadblocks.
Many people experience ‘problems with navigation’ in their daily life. They have problems with social trafficking, task execution, mobility or associating with other people. Underlying causes are organizational and planning problems or limited problem solving skills (e.g., people with an autistic spectrum disorder or decreased brain functioning). For them, shopping or performing a simple task in and around the house can already be too demanding for them. They need help in many ways. This digital coach is developed especially for them.
The Public Transport coach is experimentally tested by the Dr. Leo Kannerhuis (The Netherlands). Experiments showed that children using the coach (on their iPods) used Public Transport more independently than children in the control group. Furthermore, the coach was proven to be user-friendly. The research was described in a Dutch newspaper and specialist journal.
Dunov is supported by two Dutch organizations: RE-phrase (www.re-phrase.com) and the Dr. Leo Kannerhuis (www.leokannerhuisnederland.nl).
