This is the app for you.
A totally different kind of bill splitter, this free and fun little app takes a twist on things by letting you create different profiles that you can just distribute people and dishes into*, and it'll spit out what they need to owe!
Splitting bills shouldn't have to be a hassle, so we try to make it as easy as possible. Not a fan of cents? Don't you worry, you can even round up to the nearest dollar. ;)
*HOW DOES IT WORK?
It's all thanks to a little algebra! At some point, you put in average prices for a drink or small, medium, or large dish. This not only makes you categorize and simplify the problem, but also lets us create relative values using ratios between each type of item.
When you distribute the items into profiles, we use that information to then create equations that we solve for to come to final numbers for each profile by using the pricing ratios from before. Note that what you distribute doesn't have to "add up" to the total bill.
For example:
Bill = $100
Avg Drink = $10
Avg Med Dish = $20
Profile 1 = 1 med dish, 1 drink, 1 person
Profile 2 = 1 med dish, 0 drink, 2 people
Solve for x:
100 = (20x + 10x) + (20x * 2)
x = 100 / 70 = 1.429
Profile 1 Bill = 20 * 1.429 + 10 * 1.429 = $42.86
Profile 2 Bill = 20 * 1.429 = $28.57 each (x2)
Total = 42.86 + 28.57 + 28.57 = 100!
