Application Description
Wow the crew on your next shoot by using the Timecode Buddy: app to turn your iPad, iPhone or iPod Touch into a highly accurate DigiSlate. This free app allows you to involve the whole team in the timecode revolution.
Unlock the wireless features of your Timecode Buddy products
• The Timecode Buddy hardware gives broadcast professionals a reliable way to sync cameras and sound with absolute simplicity.
• Use the app to wirelessly stream and display real-time SMPTE timecode from your Timecode Buddy hardware onto up to ten iOS devices simultaneously.
The only DigiSlate app that’s constantly re-synced from an accurate hardware device via WiFi
• The timecode, user bits and frames per second (FPS) shown on the app feed directly from the Timecode Buddy: master, so all cameras and sound are accurately synced with each other.
• The Timecode Buddy: app doesn’t rely on the clock within your iOS device.
How it works (if you really want to know)
• Timecode is broadcast via WiFi using UDP Broadcast protocol in ‘ad hoc’ mode, ensuring highly accurate syncing from the microprocessor controlled 0.2ppm TCXO reference oscillator within the Timecode Buddy: master itself.
• Just log on to your Buddy’s own WiFi network. Each Timecode Buddy: master appears as a different WiFi network on the iOS settings page. Find the one you want and then open the app.
Additional features
Full menu control allows you to change any settings on your Timecode Buddy: master directly from the app. For example, you can even turn the backlight on and off from your iPad.
Planning a DSLR, music or separate sound shoot?
Use the iPad version of the app (with higher resolution and enhanced menu graphics) to get the full benefits of a full size DigiSlate - an accurate real-time slate of your main ‘on set’ timecode.
