The Guide - iPhone Version
Detailed App Info:
Application Description
Have you ever wondered what you should do if you find yourself thrown out of an airlock in deep space? Do you want to know how a Babel Fish works? Do you want to find out more information about those mindless jerks at the Sirius Cybernetics Corporation? Have you done six impossible things this morning?
If the answer to any of these questions is "YES!" then this is the app you have been looking for.
Here, in one handy phone-sized package, you will find a selection of the most useful information found in the original* Hitch Hikers Guide to the Galaxy.
Impress your colleagues. Amuse your friends. And when you've done that, you can hide in a corner and play with this app.
The clips all come from the 1981 British Broadcasting Corporation TV series, The Hitch Hikers Guide to the Galaxy, which you can buy from good bookshops**. The series is based on the original Radio 4 radio drama written by Douglas Adams, which is also available on CD. Douglas then wrote a further 3 books***, which were subsequently produced as radio plays by award winning producer Dirk Maggs.
1:1 - We have normality. Anything you still can't cope with is therefore your own problem!
*This is clearly some strange usage of the word 'original' that you weren't previously aware of.
**And some fairly bad ones
***Or rather, he wrote most of them. Douglas died before finishing "Mostly Harmless". But happily, audio files were found posthumously of the author reading one of the parts, and so miraculously, and without the aid of a time machine, Douglas appears as Aagrajag in the Quintisential Phase.
Known Issues:
This app is designed for the 4" display of an iPhone 5. It doesn't quite fit smaller phones properly. A future release will fix this issue.
