This 1935 film starring John Wayne cast him as a man whose father is killed, and he himself gets wounded in the process. Whilst recovering he is attracted to his nurse, but this also causes conflict as his friend is actually planning to marry Alice the nurse. Wayne goes looking for his fathers killers, but without knowing his 'friend' has set him up.

John Wayne - born Marion Morrison, began a football scholarship in 1925-1927 at USC, his friend Tom Mix, got Wayne a summer job as a prop man during the summer in exchange for football tickets. During his summer job he became good friends with director, John Ford, and as a result was often cast doing bit parts. Somewhere along the way he decided he would stay with film and his first feature was ‘Men Without Women’. During his career he went onto star in nearly 250 movies. Wayne’s health was far from great and from September 1964 onwards he underwent surgery to have a cancerous lung removed, a heart valve replacement, and in January 1979 his stomach was removed. John Wayne later died on 11 June, 1979 of lung and stomach cancer.
