Dr James Brewster and Dr George Randall (Bela Lugosi and Henry Hall) re performing experiments on a gorilla when led to Brewster injecting himself with some kind of serum, causing him to slowly transfer into half gorilla half man. Unfortunately the only cure is an injection from a humans spinal fluid, however, this then leaves the human dead. With Randall refusing to help Brewster technically commit murder, how will Brewster transform back to a human, he is already slowly deteriorating and at times shows the gorillas instincts, leading him to be locked in a cage. Will Brewster find a way or is he life as a human over?
