Suppose you want to get together with a group of friends. Before you can, people first have to be invited. Then a place and a time need to be proposed, negotiated, and confirmed. Have you noticed that the bigger the group, the harder it is to get everyone on the same page? Now, you're herding cats. It takes a lot of time, a lot of texts, and a lot of calls to get it all sorted out.

Now suppose you could use a fun mobile app that takes care of all the busy work. You could easily invite your friends, and everyone could weigh in on where and when they want to meet, and the winning time and place is automagically determined and communicated by your pre-defined rules. They're your friends, and you're still herding cats, but at least now it's a lot more fun and a lot less work.

Syber PlanIt allows you to register with just your mobile phone number and a Syberhood username and password. As an organizer of an event, Syber PlanIt allows you to :
• Create a new event plan in under a minute.
• Invite anyone in your device contact list to the event, or anyone else whose mobile number you know.
• Add a rule to determine how many of your invitees need to accept their invitation before the event's group is set.
• Make initial proposals for the event's date and location.
• Add rules to determine how the actual date and location are selected.

When a person accepts your invitation, they can:
• Invite any of their contacts to join the event.
• Vote on any date and location proposal in the event's plan.
• Add a new date or location proposal for others to vote on.
• Register to receive phone notifications on significant changes in the plan's status.
• Receive a reminder on the day of the event.
• Add comments and pictures specific to the plan's event.

Syber PlanIt is very easy to use. Someone (the organizer) starts a new plan.  The organizer gives the plan a name, and has to then invite an initial group, and submit initial proposals for date and location. Members can be invited by sending an SMS directly to a mobile phone number, or selecting one or more contacts from the device or Syberbood contact lists.  

The invited friends receive a notification on their phones to join the plan.  When they do, they can invite more friends, add new proposals for where and when, and vote for their top choice.  When the contact clicks on “Accept”, he or she is taken to the new plan.  The location and date can both be “Undecided” if the plan is set up where a certain number of members need to agree on a date or location.  The user can either vote for the proposed location, or else propose an alternate location.

The organizer manages all of the plan’s voting rules.  The organizer can set a quorum, that is a minimum number of invited participants needing to accept.  The organizer can also decide if he or she has the ultimate choice for where and when everyone will meet, or leave things to a vote.  The status for the plan will jump around, determined by the rules, and based on who’s in and out, and the changing votes for the different where’s and when’s.

When the rules for who, where and when are met, the plan’s ready for everyone to hang out.  People can post comments and pictures while waiting, as well as request a reminder sent to their phone on the plan’s scheduled date.  However, things can always change, and Syber PlanIt keeps everyone notified when plans have changed or slipped.
