This app provides an up-to-date comprehensive climbing guide to this popular area, as well as to several excellent and lesser-known nearby cliffs — Whippoorwill, Long Point, Gauley Crag, and Carnifex Ferry — in the Gauley River region. Based on Wolverine Publishing’s bestselling New River Gorge Rock Climbs guidebook, this app places essential beta for 343 rock climbs, at your fingertips
The app stores the guide content on your device – you don’t need an internet connection for it to work at the crag. The app contains all the route information of the print guidebook, including maps, descriptions, cliff & action photographs, and puts it at your fingertips on a handheld device.
In addition to presenting all the great content from the print guidebook, the app allows you to:
–Explore the entire content with a few taps, in seconds.
–Search based on multiple criteria. For example: find three- and four-star 5.9 to 5.10 sport routes on sunny walls. You can also search for individual climb and wall names.
– Tick List the climbs you want to do.
– Log the climbs you send and your progress on projects.
–Navigate complex terrain in real time using GPS. Markers show your location and the locations of cliffs. (Real time GPS not currently available for iPod touch.)
