Application Description
Spark the love of Math in a gradual and engaging fashion, anytime and anywhere!
Subtracto is about learning the concept of subtraction. After having mastered addition, the next step is to learn to "take away" things, resulting in subtraction! We have created this interactive application to help them in that journey. It is about absorbing the concepts and building a good foundation.
To that purpose we designed these smart flashcards. These flashcards help the children with the concept and encourage them to arrive at the answer. They get a star when answers are correct, a reward system familiar to most kids.
For beginners we use object counting as a help method. At the second level, groups of 5 are presented to help count and see the result of subtracting double digit numbers. Lastly we introduce the 3 digit addition where the child can actually subtract the number him/her self on the flash card. This is the on-the-go learning companion for 4-6 yrs old kids.
Unlike a game, access to these levels is not restricted. Kids are curious and we welcome them to explore all three at will. With practice, their proficiency at this foundational skill will improve. And they will get that much needed practice in a gentle and fun way!
In fact, we hope that the toddler practices enough to achieve the mental math proficiency level - being able to answer all single digit subtraction questions correctly and quickly without using external aids!
