Application Description
StrikeMonitorPro is the most comprehensive Lightning distance utility for iPhone.
It is designed around the basic principle of the "Flash Boom" method for determining the distance of lightning from you. Extra functionality for the adjustment of air temperature and distance metrics used during calculations is provided.
When the the distance is determined, the use of GPS and maps allows you to determine approximately where the likely strike zone would be around you. An additional screen allows you to utilise the "Buys Ballot Law" to estimate where the centre of a weather system low would be as well.
A preferences screen allows you to set your temperature to Celsius or Fahrenheit, as well as changing distances between imperial and metric measurements.
