Storage helps you with the organization and retrieval of items of any kind.

Its catalog is based on the simple concepts of places, boxes and items and it mimics the actual organization of the things you want to keep track of.

You can store items hierarchically, starting from a location and going down through nested boxes, but you can also save plain lists of items.

Storage supports the definition of places with corresponding addresses and geographical coordinates (it uses the integrated address book and location services).
Within places you can store boxes and items. Of course you can have nested boxes and you can move stuff around without having to re-enter any data.

Storage allows you to associate to boxes and items additional information such as notes, pictures, product codes, quantity with shortage warning and colored labels. The labels can be considered like categories; you can define as many of them as you like and each item or box can have many labels.

A catalog without search capabilities would not be of great use. With Storage you can search for items by name, note and product code, restrict the search results by labels, have an overview of items in shortage or use the visual browser to find items by picture (useful if you don't remember their names).

On compatible devices (those with an autofocus-capable camera) you can use the integrated barcode scanner to speed up entry of product code and subsequently search for it.

If you have an AirPrint compatible printer, Storage will be able to print labels for the boxes to be recognized using the barcode scanner, thus you will not have to navigate through the hierarchy to check the contents of the box in front of you.
