Launched nationwide in 2007, Static Beach is a radio station
broadcasting live from a
glass studio at the beach in Southern California to the rest of the world.

Heard online, and on scores of FM stations nationwide, Static Beach’s
marquis show is
hosted by Mark Sutherland, Danny McGreal, and Jessica Sattelberger.
Originally launched nationwide on XM Satellite Radio, Static Beach was
conceived after
Mark returned from island hopping the Caribbean while directing “Beach Week” for
Discovery Network’s Travel Channel. He recalls returning from the
islands to Manhattan
Beach, where he experienced two epiphanies. One… That his “beach” and
“radio” worlds
must collide. Two… That this new “Static Beach” sound should be broadcast, well
beyond the beach; So beach enthusiasts everywhere could enjoy it.

Prior to running Static Beach, Mark was one of the original architects
of The Disney
Company’s “Radio Disney Network.” Since then he has called upon valuable lessons
learned during the early days of Radio Disney, to build and produce a
premiere beach
radio network called Static Beach!

With a growing number of FM affiliate stations, and new digital
platforms, Static Beach
is flourishing. Thanks to support from sixteen employees, several wise
investors, and
contributors from around the globe, Static Beach continues to
broadcast from the beach to
the world.
