Celebrating its 30th anniversary in 2013, the St Kilda Film Festival is Australia's largest and oldest short film festival.
St Kilda Film Festival provides the most comprehensive overview of the national short film industry, screening the Top 100 short film entries received each year alongside a rich program of new music videos, international short films, special screenings and events. Each year, the Festival also includes a Filmmaker Development Program and Industry Open Day. Australia’s Top 100 prize pool totals over $40,000 in cash and in-kind craft awards, including a $10,000 prize for Best Short Film.
In 2013, special screenings included an international program direct from SXSW Film Festival, a rarely-seen Easybeats documentary and a retro music video supersession.
