Sound Tree Rings records your own sound and turns it into tree rings. It’s a combination of recording, drawing, art, music, and story telling. You can deliver your own sonic message while traveling around, taking with your friends, or meeting with something new on the street. Just record the short valuable moments, save it, and create your own tree ring memories before it’s gone. Each tree ring has different story, time record, and sound. The waveform of sound is arranged into the spiral shape, which results in the various designs of tree rings. When you are done with creating your tree rings, you can print or lasercut the tree ring designs on paper or wood through our website service. It will be your one and only artwork, audiovisual diaries or great gifts for yourself or your loved ones.

Sound Tree Rings was first developed as a work of interactive art by a media/sound artist, Yoon Chung Han in 2011. It was very first idea that connected the relationship between sound and tree ring memory, which made this project as a leading and innovative art project. Now it’s available as an iPhone and iPad application that makes and shares your own sound stories.
