Solar System For Kids is an app that makes learning about solar system much more fun. My nine year old son is an inspiration for me to write this app. This app is having following functionality.
* Compare Planets : Compare Sun, eight planets and five dwarf planets side by side to see how their physical and orbital characteristics are different. The planet specifications will be displayed in US or Metric units depending on your app settings. This page also shows comparative data for planet specifications with respect to that of earth. You can also do graphical comparison (bar/pie charts) of planets.
* Planets and Religion : Our ancestors worshiped different planets, the Moon and the Sun as God or Goddess. This page shows significance of different planets in Greek, Hindu and Roman religions.
* Solar System Model : Play and experience 3d solar system model with all eight planets and pluto orbiting the Sun. The model is time scaled so that you could see comparative speed of each planets.
* Solar Fun Facts : The physical and orbital characteristics of each planet is different, which makes your weight and age to be different on different planets as well. Learn how much you weigh, check your age on other planets in planet years and find out when is your next birth day going to be on other planets.
* Flash Cards And Quiz : Browse through the flash cards to learn some interesting facts about the solar system and take a quiz about solar system and put your knowledge to test. There are more than 60 questions for quiz and about 30 flash cards.
