In 2013, Thailand has set the stage for ASEAN Gateway, the trade center of the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC), and elevated the quality of life for Thais to international standards. By exercising strategic plans to empower the development mechanisms, the country has become the center of networking, the data storage and the boundless knowledge propagation. It has been expected to develop the strong collaboration amongst all sectors with “information technology and communication”.

Ministry of Information and Communication Technology (MICT) is ready to be the main body leading Thailand to a great leap forward on development by maximizing information technology and communication in every dimension of progress under the scheme ICT SHIFT the FUTURE of THAILAND. The policies of SMART THAILAND 2020, together with the Ministry’s vision and mission, aim to fortify the effectiveness of public sectors and competitiveness of private agencies. The policies aim at increasing Thai people’s standard of living towards ICT for sustainable growth of the nation.
