How much water does your garden really need?
The SmartGardenWatering app is the ideal companion to the SmartGardenWatering.org.au website. Gardens that you have modelled on the website can be added to this app to help you easily monitor your watering requirements and local rainfall.
The app lets you view gardens that you have previously modelled using SmartGardenWatering.org.au, and reminds you when to water and for how long. It also shows you how much rain has fallen near your suburb so that you can make sensible decisions should the rainfall differ from the expected 'average'.
If you have used the SmartGardenWatering.org.au website you will be familiar with the way it lets you create a sophisticated model of your garden (choosing plants from our huge database, adding various garden conditions, modelling water tank performance, and much more). With this app you will automatically see information from your garden made available in a convenient and timely manner. No need to waste water in the garden ever again!
What this App does:
• Easy to add your garden areas using a code displayed on SmartGardenWatering.org.au
• See watering requirements for each area of your garden
• See how long until the next watering day
• See for how long you need to water
• Reset next watering day after you've watered
• View last week’s rainfall as recorded by the BoM weather station nearest your garden
• Built-in help and advice screens
• Direct link to extensive help on the SmartGardenWatering.org.au web site
NOTES:
The SmartGardenWatering.org.au web site currently only has data for Melbourne and Geelong areas. Yes, if we can find funding, we will extend it to Victorian regional areas!
This app (and the website) were created as part of a project funded by the Smart Water Fund and the Institute for a Broadband Enabled Society (The University of Melbourne).
