Ambrosia artemisiifolia, common ragweed, is an invasive and noxious plant that is spreading in Europe and poses a threat to human health (because of strong allergies) and agriculture. You can help to fight this plant! Use the SMARTER Ambrosia Reporter App to report this plant wherever you see it in Europe. Knowing its occurrence and abundance throughout the continent will help us to develop habitat- and region-specific strategies to control it.

How does it work? When you see a population of common ragweed, snap a picture of a single plant, give a name to your site, answer the question about the location and the number of plants, and send your report. The App includes a help page to learn to recognise the plant, and we will inform you afterwards whether your report was correct. It also features a version for professionals, including more detailed information about the location and the vegetation. We are extremely interested in any other exciting specific info about your site, for example if you noticed insects feeding on the plant. Such information may lead to new management solutions.
