Playing poker among friends is fun. However, the rhythm of the game is often quite slow because the dealer’s tasks (shuffling, dealing and picking up the cards) are performed slowly or clumsily, as players often lack concentration, when they are not downright drunk. This leads to an hourly rate of hands, which is too low to allow serious players to improve their game, thus favoring the random side of poker.

It’s this realization that led one casual player to come up with the concept for Simple Poker Deck. THE IDEA BEHIND THE APP IS TO AUTOMATE THE HANDLING OF CARDS THROUGH AN INTUITIVE AND STRAIGHTFORWARD INTERFACE, THUS SIGNIFICANTLY INCREASING THE HOURLY RATE OF HANDS PLAYED. For only a fraction of the price of a quality deck of cards, poker games with friends can now take place at a pace that compete on an even footing with that of a casino or online poker site!

With Simple Poker Deck, shuffling and dealing are almost instantaneous, but bets and chips are not managed by the application. This is a deliberate choice: after all, chips and bets are what makes live poker so much better that its electronic counterpart.

For the moment, Simple Poker Deck only supports the Texas Hold’em variant of poker.

Simple Poker Deck is currently only available on iOS. It works on iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch, but an Android/Windows version is planned.

IN DETAILS

The Simple Poker Deck application must be downloaded and installed on each device. It is strongly recommended that you use the latest version.

A multiplayer connection can be made by either using wi-fi or the hotspot function on one of the devices.

The application allows you to create or join tables of up to 10 players.

Tables are password protected.

Players can select their seats to correspond with their physical position at the table.

In turn, and following standard rules, players can choose from the dealer’s various actions: dealing cards, revealing the board (flop, turn, river), mucking folded cards and shuffling. This is done instantaneously, as soon as the dealer presses the corresponding button.

At any point in time, a player can choose Fold to muck his cards or Show Cards to reveal his hand on his device, which he can then show his opponents.

An overview of the table allows you to determine at a glance, which players are still in the game and which have folded, as well as the dealer’s position.

As long as there are available seats, a new player can join the table at any time.

Players can leave the table during a game in progress without any repercussions on it.
