The ShopNoGMO app was designed to help consumers avoid products with GMO (Genetically Modified Organisms) when shopping or dining out. The ShopNoGMO app provides information about the science behind genetic engineering, the health risks of GMOs and hundreds of non-GMO brand names in 23 food categories.
ShopNoGMO was created for health conscious consumers nationwide including the 9 out of 10 Americans who would like GM foods labeled and the majority of Americans who say they would avoid GM foods if they were labeled.
Supermarket News credited the Non-GMO Shopping Guide (along with the Non-GMO Project) as having “the potential to spark a new round of concern among shoppers who are today much more attuned to the ways their food is produced.”
