It is not currently possible for a phone to emit smells by scratching the screen. Disappointed? Don't be. A smell coming from a phone would not be nearly as much fun as what you and your friends will experience with Scratch&Sniff.
Here is how it works. All you need to do is launch the app and hand the phone to your friend. A little set up about this amazing new scratch-n-sniff technology will help set up the joke. The launch screen directs your friend to select one of five scents. Upon selecting a scent an image representing the scent appears with a familiar "scratch here" area. After the area is scratched your friend is instructed to sniff the speaker at the bottom of the phone in order to smell the scent. The professionally-designed interface gives nothing away—it looks serious and legit. You can confidently just hand the phone to your friend and wait. (Although we do recommend biting your lip or pinching yourself to stop yourself from laughing prematurely.)
This really is your last chance to turn back.
When your friend lifts the phone to their nose, the phone vibrates and randomly plays one of several realistically-offensive farts right in your friend's face. We know, sounds terrible and juvenile. We are half embarrassed to have made this app, but it is too funny and we just could not resist.
We can confidently say that after at least a handful of unscientific field tests on our friends, this app has a 100% track record of bringing down the house. Great for parties, pranks and looking cool. Not so great for church, funerals and job interviews—but we will leave the choice of venue to your personal discretion.
