SBN started in New York in 1996 as Radio Seoul AM 1430.  In 2010, it began broadcasting on the Internet using OS (Operating System) method to be at the forefront of the rapidly evolving media industry.  SBN takes advantage of the ability to customize its programs and produce more community focused informational programming 24 hours a day to the Eastern US Korean communities.  In addition, SBN also includes music, Entertainment and cultural programming.  SBN will continue to prepare to broadcast beyond smart phones to smart TV, tablet PC’s and other emerging technologies, and expand its platform from radio-centered programming to TV and View-on-Demand services.

SBN은 1996년 뉴욕에서 AM 1430을 통해 라디오 서울로 개국했다. 빠르게 변화되고 있는 미디어 산업에 발 맞추어 차세대 방송으로 앞서 나가기 위해 송출 방식을 OS(Operating System)로 방송한다. SBN은 전세계 어디에서나 청취 가능하나 지역성이 강한 라디오의 특성을 최대한 살려 미주 지역 특히 미 동부 지역을 중심으로 한 지역 정보에 좀 더 충실한 프로그램을 방송하며 정보의 홍수 속에 다양하고 알차며 바른 정보 전문 방송으로 1일 24시간 365일 방송하고 있다. 그밖에 음악 및 예능 프로그램 편성으로 전적으로 재미 있는 방송을 추구하고 있다. 앞으로 SBN은 스마트폰은 물론 스마트TV, 태블릿 컴퓨터 등의 라인업에 따른 라디오는 물론 TV 및 VOD의 서비스도 준비 중이다.
