The APP can be executed in the background to communicate with the OBD2 device. The OBD2 device will automatically shut down once you leave car. In general, the IOS is able to launch blue tooth device automatically, if you already have paired the device and turn it on. The IOS blue tooth disconnected timeout is 30 seconds, if OBD2 device was on or off within 30 seconds, may lead to the blue tooth connection is failed, then you must reconnect it via blue tooth setup.
