A paradigm shift in marketing today stems from technology advancements that are producing a new class of super-informed, highly empowered consumers. As products like tablet computers increasingly shift people away from traditional media and untether them from their office and home PCs, marketing professionals at all levels are seeking to update and refresh their skills sets to stay current.

In this spirit of transformation, Rutgers Center for Management Development (CMD), addresses this need and takes it up a notch. CMD is using the capabilities of Apple’s iPad™ tablet to incorporate cutting-edge digital technology into its teaching approach. All students in the course will be given a free Apple iPad with access to program materials.

The Mini-MBA curriculum presents a new business model for digital marketing. Participants will learn about the latest research and best practices in the industry. Topics to be covered include social media marketing, search engine optimization, real-time research, blogging, augmented reality techniques, virtual worlds, open innovation, measurement and ROI tracking, and multichannel integration. Students also will explore opportunities to use mobile devices, such as the iPad, to deliver new tools for marketers and new experiences for customers.
