Road Wars is a social game to see which of your friends are the safest drivers. Playing Road Wars will improve your actual driving skills.

There are two modes for Road Wars --

1) When you are actually driving your car, Road Wars analyzes your driving speeds, braking, acceleration and swerving. Road Wars gives warnings when your driving is bad, and gives “rewards” for every ten minutes of safe driving. Road Wars will award you with “captured roads” for demonstrating safe driving behavior. Most importantly, Road Wars will “punish” you if you touch your phone while your car is moving. This is used to help train you to avoid distracted driving behavior. It is best to put the phone in a cradle or down stationary somewhere.

2) When you are not driving, you get to see the roads our friends have “captured” via safe driving on them, and you can then challenge your friends to take over some of their roads. Challenges take the form of a fun set of games that combines skill and luck, such as rolling dice.

The intent of Road Wars is to make people better drivers, by reducing excessive speeding, reducing other phone usage (texting-and-driving), and also promoting smooth driving techniques (avoiding excessive acceleration, braking, and swerving). The gaming element lets you play against your Facebook friends and adds a friendly competition to the experience.

Only interaction you can do with the app while you are driving is to fix and report speed limits. The speed limits we get from our service provider are based on the category of the road (freeway, local, etc). Each town has some leeway to change that speed, so when Road Wars says 20 MPH, it could be 30. You can change these values, and we are hoping to create our own speed limit database with user reported speed limits. To do so, you can have a PASSENGER double click on the speed limit sign on the screen, and then you can properly set the speed limit. This speed limit will stay set for you at the new limit.

You will be rewarded with extra coin for reporting speed limits.

When you are not driving, attack your friends to capture their roads. Attacks get harder and more expensive the more you attack. Attack cost is based on how much safe driving you have on road compared to how much they have. Roads that you drive more frequently will be more expensive to others and harder to lose.

Bonus time, daily stats, attack cost, and attack game degree of difficulty gets reset each day at midnight.

Since this is the first version of the app, there are various things that can go wrong. It would be extremely helpful if you send logs when something happens by "swiping" to the right with two fingers. This will create an email message with a log to help make the game better and better.

Also - it is good idea to have your phone plugged into power source while using in car.
