Rattlehand are the very essence of alt country and with their debut single on high rotation across 30+ national and local radio stations and a second track from the album, ‘Pike River’ nominated for an Independent Music Award, their appeal is clear.
This lively 6 piece have been making quite a name for themselves over the last couple of years, boasting performances with industry greats such as Justin Townes Earle (USA), Peter Rowan (USA), Henry Wagons & Wagons, Graveyard Train and Halfway and festivals such as Tamworth Country Music Festival, Apollo Bay Festival, Woodford Folk Festival and in venues all up and down the east coast.
Soulful narrative and skilled musicianship are evident in each song with the influences of Ryan Adams, Wilco, Hank Williams, The Old 97's and Johnny Cash all contributing to the Americana feel.
Rattlehand’s alt-country/rock feel pays homage to the “outlaw country” genre of the 60’s and 70’s: it is a sound that happily deviates from the dominant paradigm. In love with all things Americana, Rattlehand serve up bluegrass feels and country twang on a platter of guitars, bringing rock to the bayou and taking the crowd on a journey through the Bible belt, into blues country and out the other side of rock n roll.
