Application Description
When working, even a moment's distraction can cost you your focus.
Push distractions aside, silence disruptions and become wired in with Quiet for Mac OS X. With the push of a button, silence noisy applications and fade out all unwanted windows. It's great when you need a moment of peace to get on with work.
CHAT SILENCER
Quiet will ask programs which normally vie for your attention to give you a moment. Chat clients such as Adium or iChat by will be set as 'away' or 'busy'. Skype will be switched to the 'Do Not Disturb' mode.
WINDOW HIDER
At the same time Quiet will hide unrelated windows, including the Finder itself, making the window or windows you wish to focus on the only thing on your screen.
Preserve your train of thought and be effective with Quiet.
DETAILS
• Focus on a single application and its windows, or on a whole space.
• Fade out other windows, or bring them out of focus with the beautiful 'Focus Out' effect.†
• Optionally use your desktop wallpaper as your focus backdrop.
• Hide the menu bar until you mouse over it.
While in 'focused mode', Quiet will silence applications as follows:
• Change your status in Adium and iChat to 'busy' with a customizable message.
• Change Skype to 'Do Not Disturb' mode.
• Disable the 'new mail' sound in Apple Mail.
Each of the above actions can be controlled individually in Quiet's preferences.
