Application Description
Purple Tree is a simple and beautiful visualization tool for your hard drive space usage. A comprehensive treemap display allows you to see all your large folders and files at a glance! You can visually compare sizes and locate the large files, usually hidden inside the labyrinth of folders. The app features allow you to:
- Identify files by its contents type (Pictures, Music, Movies etc.) using colors;
- Find recently changed files using the Modification Date colormap;
- Zoom inside the subfolders to explore your hard drive structure;
- Show selected files and folders in Finder;
- Get detailed statistics on selected folder’s elements;
- Delete selected large files to free up disk space (this option may be deactivated in Preferences);
The most important feature is the visualization itself. There’s no unnecessary annoying windows or steps: open or drop a folder and you’re done. Purple Tree reserves every single pixel of the app window to the graphics, nothing else! Full Screen mode allows you to see the tree map in every details and the carefully designed graphics make this display not only informative, but also an enjoyable experience!
