Chukka Master is primarily a utility to keep both time and score at grass or arena polo matches or chukkas, on the iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad.

Once the user has entered a few basic team and match details, Chukka Master will automatically generate the starting scores based on team handicaps and number of chukkas.

Chukka Master's timer display lets the user keep time of the match with a one touch pause / start operation that shows both a clear time-elapsed and time-to-play display. At the end of 7 minutes the first bell alarm sounds and the timer changes to count down the last 30 seconds when a second alarm is sounded.

Chukka Master times the three minute intervals between chukkas and the five minute half-time break. At the end of the last chukka - in the event of a draw - Chukka Master will allow further chukkas until a winning goal is scored.

The score keepers display clearly shows team line outs and shirt colours on the same screen as the time keepers'. It allows the user to register each goal and the scoring player with a single touch without leaving the timer screen. When handicaps are played, Chukka Master will display the starting score (including half goals) and add each goal to this until the end of the final chukka. The chukka numbers automatically advance at the end of each seven and a half minutes of play.

In the event of a draw at the end of the final 7 minutes Chukka Master will allow the extra 30 seconds of play. If the game is still tied and the match conditions require, a further interval of the correct time will be counted out and any further chukkas automatically added.

At the end of the match, Chukka Master collates all the match information and generates a match report, listing team line outs, goals (their time and scorers) and final match results. This can be emailed or saved as a note.

Photos taken with the device during the match can be added to the match report.

Future versions will include team and tournament management tools for yard, string and staff management , polo news, rules and social network feeds, and player and club information.

Chukka Master also offers a simple timer scorer option for informal chukkas which counts down and scores without any input.
