During the 21 days following the initiation, you are asked to follow a self cleaning protocol to make yourself a “cure.” This period is not accidental: Mikao Usui took 21 days to reach that knowledge and the truth is that the human brain and body need a periode of time to set all changes. If you want to change something in your life, do it for 21 days straight and you will see how easy it will be to continue doing it later.

It is said that, as the self-treatment takes 21 days it is like if you are healing each chakra for 3 days starting with the first one. This protocol of hand positions will ensure that your whole body has received the energy, although this would go where you need it most at that time, so do not worry too much thinking about which chakra you are healing at that moment. Keep an open attitude and an open mind for the energy to flow.

If you ever feel that you want to keep more time any position, do it. You cannot have an overdose of Reiki and you will not be neglecting the other parts for not being more than 3 minutes.
