Application Description
PlaiMaker is a sophisticated neural network algorithm, written by a former CERN physicist, that predicts winners of National Football League games. The algorithm analyzes 25 offensive and defensive statistics gathered for each team. After training with results of past football games, it is able to lay predictions on outcomes of future games. While PlaiMaker is tuned to work out-of-the-box (picks correct winners an estimated 74% of the time, with 8.5 point uncertainty on the spread), configuration options are given to the user to experiment and further adjust the algorithm's complexity and training behaviour.
